Successful SAP Datasphere events in Linz and Vienna

Data is like unpolished diamonds: valuable in its own right, but it is only the right cut that transforms it into a precious – indeed, priceless – asset. And it is precisely this ‘cut’ that modern data platforms such as SAP Datasphere provide. But how do you implement such solutions correctly? What steps are needed to guide companies from mountains of unused data towards strategic insights with real added value? Answers to these questions were provided at the SAP Datasphere events held at the scc sites in Linz and Vienna.

The stage is set for innovation

What makes SAP Datasphere so special? The effective use of existing data remains one of the greatest challenges facing businesses today. This is precisely why we launched our SAP Datasphere events: we wanted our customers to understand how they can revolutionise the data architecture within their organisations – some of which is already rather outdated. The focus was on the future, and this is exactly where SAP Datasphere comes into play: it opens the door to Data Mesh, Data Fabric and, with them, a wide range of modern, flexible data strategies. Furthermore, the data platform enables a wide variety of AI use cases to be implemented. The overarching aim should be to stop viewing data in isolation from one another, but rather to connect all available data sets into a single, cohesive whole. And that is precisely the path that SAP Datasphere paves the way for.

From customer to customer

And how do you get to the heart of this complex topic? Quite simply: with real-world examples and interactive formats! At our events, we focus on a combination of strategic concepts and tangible use cases. From the ‘why’ to the ‘how’ – every participant should understand how SAP Datasphere works in practice and how it can specifically help to solve challenges.

In real time, participants were able to share their assessments on topics such as the maturity level of their own data platforms, which led to fascinating discussions and insights. The event also offered ample opportunities to exchange views on specific issues within the context of their own organisations.

Another highlight was the presentation of the it.booster analytics suite by our partner company, NTT DATA Business Solutions AG. The it.booster analytics suite makes it easier for companies to get started with reporting and analytics using SAP, thanks to pre-configured data models and a proven project methodology. This enables solutions based on SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA to be implemented more quickly and put into productive use.

Key Takeaways: What remains?

As well as presenting SAP Datasphere and the practical examples, we also wanted to give participants a few additional points to ponder:
1
Maturity of the data landscape
How far has my organisation come with the digitalisation of its data strategy? And, above all: where do we want to be in the coming years? Those who understand their data landscape thoroughly can draw the right conclusions from it and develop a tailor-made strategy.
2
Technology independence
Although SAP was a central component of the event, our focus was not exclusively on SAP technologies. Rather, we discussed how Microsoft solutions and other products can also be integrated into a holistic data strategy.
3
Artificial intelligence as a driver of the future
Those who already have a well-thought-out data strategy in place today will also be able to benefit from AI applications in the future and generate real competitive advantages from the data they have collected.
The positive feedback and lively discussions amongst the participants confirm our belief that there is a great demand for events of this kind. The need not only to collect data but also to use it strategically is greater than ever. And that is why we are planning to continue our successful series of events – with even more use cases, even more information and even greater depth. After all, what could be more exciting than exploring the experiences of other companies and finding out how they have transformed their data landscape?

"Get agile or go down tryin'". What reads like the title of a new rap album is the motto of our time. Because if you want to continue to exist as a company, you have to be agile and remain flexible. In other words, welcome, allow and manage change. And for this to succeed, it is essential to take a more holistic view of projects, to analyze processes, but also to say goodbye to old ways of thinking and to explore potential conflicts. The topic of the hour is therefore: project and process management, including change management. And for this reason, we have also been dealing with this for a long time.
