SAC is a cloud-based analytics, reporting and planning platform from SAP that supports organisations in making data-driven decisions, including financial and HR planning, real-time access and AI-powered forecasting.
Microsoft Fabric is a data and analytics platform from Microsoft. It combines data integration, data engineering, data science and business intelligence into a single solution and helps organisations manage and analyse large volumes of data. Microsoft Power BI is a business intelligence solution for analysing and visualising business data. Interactive dashboards and reports allow information from various data sources to be clearly presented and evaluated.
SAP Analytics and Microsoft Analytics share the same objective – to analyse business data and enable informed decision-making – but differ in their focus. SAP Analytics, for example with SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP Datasphere, is specifically designed for organisations with an SAP system landscape and offers seamless integration with SAP applications. Microsoft Analytics, with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric, is particularly well-suited to analysing data from various sources and offers impressive flexibility in visualisation options. Which solution is the better choice depends on the existing systems, business processes and the organisation’s specific requirements.
No need for local installation, automatic updates provided by the vendor, versatile applications (strategic and operational), ease of use without the need for IT expertise, and integration with various source systems. Analytics Cloud integrates machine learning for predictive analytics and simulations. SAP Datasphere is a cloud-based data platform that centrally consolidates data from SAP and non-SAP systems and makes it available for analysis. It creates a consistent data foundation for reporting and business intelligence. SAP Datasphere is part of the SAP Business Data Cloud (SAP BDC) and represents the semantic modelling component within it – whilst the SAP Analytics Cloud, as part of SAP BDC, provides the reporting and planning front end.
