Wolfram Bergbau und Hütten AG is a globally leading provider of high-quality tungsten powders. Because the company processes are being progressively digitalized, it was necessary to decide how to most effectively migrate the existing SAP landscape in stages to the new SAP S/4HANA technology. Planning of the subsequent projects for implementing additional digitalization requirements was also on the agenda.

Results

Performance of two test migrations

Two test migrations were carried out using the established procedure, and all steps of the migration were integrated into a single project. This included the necessary adaptations to the custom code, all customizing configuration, the required application modifications (business partner introduction, activation of the new general ledger and the new asset accounting, foreign trade, etc.) plus the elimination of data inconsistencies.

Facilitation with a test program

The test migrations were facilitated by a comprehensive test program carried out by the WOLFRAM key users in collaboration with the scc consultants.

After a successful acceptance test of the second test migration, the productive system was successfully converted after just six months of project time, in line with the original project plan.
